Happy Friday, Friends!
You know I basically live at my coffee shop — it’s my office, my social hub, my front-row seat to the AI-and-everything-else zeitgeist here in San Francisco. And as I sit there each morning, chatting with my friends and taking in the activity around me, here’s what I keep coming back to: our culture still rewards busy over well, even though we all know rest, creativity, and pleasure are what actually let us thrive. We just haven’t caught up to acting on it.
A few weeks ago, things started shifting for me in the right direction (which I wrote about here), and I went looking for why. I journaled. I called a wise friend or two. The advice that kept coming back:
“Stop producing so much. Narrow your focus. Rest. Ground down. Keep thinking good thoughts — they’re already on their way.”
Then the kicker: RECEIVE IT ALL.
I’d gotten good at getting quiet and following my gut. What I hadn’t mastered was actually letting the good stuff land — including the stuff I never saw coming.
So in no particular order, here are 23 things that have shown up for me this month. Now matter how big or how small, I’ve been receiving them all!
Getting to host trips and retreats for a living. This was on my business plan, and it’s actually happening — Sonoma, Kauai (twice!), Cavallo Point, and more. I hope you’ll join me. (There will be many more adventures to plan for in 2027.)
Dragonflies, everywhere I look. I asked my dad to come back as one before he passed. He’s been showing up BIG TIME.
The number 23 — my favorite, and it’s suddenly everywhere. Its meaning: “transformation through helping others.” That’s the dream.
My coffee shop people, quietly becoming real friends.
Someone darling cleaned the inside of my microwave this week without being asked . That’s what a miracle looks like!
Human Design, courtesy of my new friend Sarah. The more I understand my chart and those of the people I love, the easier it is to show up for them and myself.
A recent ADHD diagnosis that’s been genuinely life-changing — I understand myself so much better now, gifts and all.
A whiff of Le Labo 33 out of nowhere yesterday with no one around. That scent stirs my soul-no idea why. I swear it was a delightful-smelling ghost.
New babies in my life. These fresh little souls amaze me.
Golden Labs and Retrievers around every corner. (My fave.)
My friend’s dog Starlight, who has become a friend, too.
The belief that I can heal what needs healing, thanks to Dr. Rachel Zoffness’ work.
Podcasts (Amy Poehler, Oprah, The Telepathy Tapes, Chelsea Handler, the list goes on…)
Laura Lynne Jackson’s books, Signs and Guided.
Reconnecting with a great guy from way back — Writing to each other made me feel so seen and good about myself. (No romance brewing-just friendly reconnection.)
Sunsets on my roof deck, and an apartment that keeps bringing the right people to my door.
A rare full-family reunion — Sunny’s family and mine, together for Connor and Lindsey’s birthdays. Chaos, laughter, and a fantastic sunset.
Friends saying yes to life with me — Hailey, Michelle, Jodi, and more!
Teaching myself to doodle, and drawing my dream life: the Barbie Dreamhouse I’m building for all of us to live in, the trips, the people, the joy.
So much laughter, even when I’m by myself.
The beach.
Good books and good television shows.
Did I mention my retreats in Kauai? And that we’re staying at the 1Hotel in Kauai? I can’t stop smiling.
I hope you all find a few great things to let into your life this weekend. Don’t forget to look for them!

Such a lovely post, Amanda! I've been thinking the same way lately too... slow down, stop producing so much, so I can really focus. Hard to do for people like us who have so many creative ideas and love to execute, but necessary. Congrats on all the upcoming retreats...they all sound so dreamy! xo
